The Mercy Justice Tension
In Christ, God offers us forgiveness of a debt we could never pay – the debt of sin. But when we refuse to forgive the little offenses others cause us, we handcuff God’s mercy and put ourselves under strict justice. Previously, Christ pointed out that “For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you.” (Matthew 7:2) This is the way God has found to unfurl his mercy without compromising his justice; he leaves each person free to choose between the two.
But this lesson is hard for us to learn. We tend to resent not only willful offenses, but also innocent mistakes. Whenever someone else causes us even a tiny inconvenience, we can easily lash out at the offender. This is especially the case close to home – we often have less patience with our siblings and parents (or roommates) than we do with strangers and acquaintances.
In this parable, as in the Our Father, Jesus gives us the secret to forming a patient, forgiving heart. It consists in recognizing the immense evil of our own sin, and thereby perceiving the vastness of God’s goodness in forgiving it. Until we see how ugly are the ingratitude and selfishness that characterize our relationship with God, we will never grasp how generous is his forgiveness. When we do, however, our shriveled hearts expand, and our joyful patience knows no bounds.

How to get Salvation

The only program for me is Gods program
The only program for me is God’s program. Let this day come as it may. God sends it; he and no one else. Let it come as it may, we are sure that it comes wrapped in the love of our Lord and destined to sanctify us. We ought to say: “I will sanctify myself precisely by the events of this day because the loving providence of God has sent them to me. He is acquainted with my necessities; he knows what is most conducive to my sanctification.” If we were to understand this, would not our soul be a veritable ocean of peace?
One final objection: I acknowledge that by following God’s plan and subjecting myself to his will, I walk in security and live in peace. But anxieties arise on this account, for by the abuse of my liberty I may resist the divine will, go astray and follow a crooked path. Is not this a reasonable cause for worry? No. It is a reasonable cause for repentance, for tears and a firm resolution, but not for the loss of peace. God does not cease being good because I am bad, nor does he cease seeking me because I go astray. Did he not reveal to us his own heart in the parable of the Good Shepherd who left the ninety-nine sheep while he ran after the one that was lost? Yes, I have absolute certainty that if I go astray, Jesus will seek me. I shall place myself in his omnipotent hands. I shall rest upon his shoulders and return to the fold. Perhaps I must suffer to return to the right path, but blessed be the sufferings which atone for my fault and bring me back to my God.
Whatever our failings may be, whatever our wanderings, we have no right to lose either hope or peace. We are Christians and have received peace as a gift from heaven, as a seal of Christ, that peace which the world can neither give nor take away. I shall suffer, I shall repent, I shall do penance, I shall sacrifice myself—everything, but with peace in my heart; for I know that here is someone who loves me in spite of my infidelities; someone who, when I wander, puts me back on the right path; who, when I fall, raises me up.

How God Saves
The TRUTH
The Truth
The Truth of ourselves:
We are sinners.
We deserve Hell.
We deserve the consequences for our sin.
We keep sinning because we know we deserve punishment and more sin punishes ourselves. (Self destruction because of guilt and shame)
The Gospel Truth:
God made a way back to grace filled supernatural living. (Original Adam before the fall)
God sent Jesus (he came himself to tell us)
Jesus Paid the sin debt of the world.
Blood atones for sin. The blood of God paid the price for all who come.
God himself loves you so much he came himself, paid with his own blood to make you His own holy tabernacle. This tabernacle is to house the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is to guide you as a new supernatural being.
The truth of Hell:
The way to hell is to refuse the truths that you are a sinner, that you need pardon with the blood of God, and that you need supernatural power to live Holy.
The Truth of Dependency and evil:
He blots out of his book those who sin against him. You must continue your journey in the attitude of dependency and repentance in confession and contrition. You don’t know the hour He will come for your reckoning. Stay Alert the Devil is seeking to devour You.
