Proverbs 30:5

Every word of God is pure:
he is a shield unto them
that put their trust in him.

Proverbs 30:32
If thou hast done foolishly
in lifting up thyself,
or if thou hast thought evil,
lay thine hand upon thy mouth.

Proverbs 30:6
Add thou not unto his words,
lest he reprove thee,
and thou be found a liar.

Proverbs 28:25a

He that is of a proud heart
stirreth up strife.

Psalms 119:89-91

For ever, O LORD,

thy word is settled in heaven.

Thy faithfulness is unto all generations:

thou hast established the earth,

and it abideth.

They continue this day according to thine ordinances:

for all are thy servants.

The Rest of God is
The narrow way of
complete Trust and Abandonment
To his Power and Love
Without Him we can do nothing

Hebrews 4:9-11
There remaineth therefore
a rest to the people of God.
For he that is entered into his rest,
he also hath ceased from his own works,
as God did from his.

Let us labour therefore
to enter into that rest,
lest any man fall
after the same example of unbelief.

Psalms 40:4

Blessed is that man
that maketh the LORD his trust,
and respecteth not the proud,
nor such as turn aside to lies.

When we become simply a promoter
or a defender of a particular belief,
something within us dies.
That is not believing God–
it is only believing our belief about Him.

Jesus said, …believe also in Me.
NOT,
Believe certain things about Me.

It is an easy thing to argue from precedent because it makes everything simple, but it is a risky thing to do. Give God “elbow room”; let Him come into His universe as He pleases. If we confine God in His working to religious people or to certain ways, we place ourselves on an equality with God.  Baffled to Fight Better, 51 L

Psalms 118:28-29

Thou art my God,
and I will praise thee:
thou art my God,
I will exalt thee.
O give thanks unto the LORD;
for he is good:
for his mercy endureth forever.

Suffering produces Glory
Embrace your Cross don’t fight it

1 Peter 4:12-13; 19
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

1 Peter 5:10-11
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus,

after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Instead of looking at others sins
fight my own, in the power of Christ
so that people will see the new life
in freedom of sin
And will want Him

Only the Spirit saves

Deuteronomy 4:31
(For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

Psalms 117
O praise the LORD, all ye nations:
praise him, all ye people.
For his merciful kindness is great toward us:
and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever.
Praise ye the LORD.

Isaiah 26:3

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace,
whose mind is stayed on thee:
because he trusteth in thee.

Do you seek great things for yourself? JEREMIAH 45:5

Are you seeking great things for yourself, instead of seeking to be a great person? God wants you to be in a much closer relationship with Himself than simply receiving His gifts— He wants you to get to know Him. Even some large thing we want is only incidental; it comes and it goes. But God never gives us anything incidental. There is nothing easier than getting into the right relationship with God, unless it is not God you seek, but only what He can give you.

If you have only come as far as asking God for things, you have never come to the point of understanding the least bit of what surrender really means. You have become a Christian based on your own terms. You protest, saying, “I asked God for the Holy Spirit, but He didn’t give me the rest and the peace I expected.” And instantly God puts His finger on the reason– you are not seeking the Lord at all; you are seeking something for yourself. Jesus said, “Ask, and it will be given to you…” (Matthew 7:7). Ask God for what you want and do not be concerned about asking for the wrong thing, because as you draw ever closer to Him, you will cease asking for things altogether. “Your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him” (Matthew 6:8). Then why should you ask? So that you may get to know Him.

Are you seeking great things for yourself? Have you said, “Oh, Lord, completely fill me with your Holy Spirit”? If God does not, it is because you are not totally surrendered to Him; there is something you still refuse to do. Are you prepared to ask yourself what it is you want from God and why you want it? God always ignores your present level of completeness in favor of your ultimate future completeness. He is not concerned about making you blessed and happy right now, but He’s continually working out His ultimate perfection for you— “…that they may be one just as We are one…” (John 17:22).

John 21:22
Jesus saith unto him,
If I will that he…
what is that to thee?
Follow thou me.

STOP SPREADING DISCORD
STOP FOOLISH QUESTIONS
STOP BEING CONTENTIOUS
IT IS UNPROFITABLE AND VAIN

Titus 3:9
But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies,
and contentions, and strivings about the law;
for they are unprofitable and vain.

True Christian Detachment

Today's Meditation
“Everything that exists is a gift from God. Yet oftentimes we look to the things and creatures created by God for a satisfaction and fulfillment that only God Himself can provide. When the soul wraps itself around the things and the people of this world, looking for satisfaction or fulfillment that only God can give, it produces a distortion in itself, and in others as well. Many spiritual writers call the process of unwinding this possessive, self-centered, clinging, and disordered seeking of things and persons ‘detachment’. The goal of the process of detachment is not to stop loving the things and people of this world, but, quite to the contrary, to love them even more truly in God, under the reign of Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Things and people become even more beautiful and delightful when we see them in this light. There are almost always painful dimensions to this process of ‘letting go’ in order to love more, but it’s the pain of true healing and liberation. Christian detachment is an important part of the process by which we enter into a realm of great freedom and joy.”

The whole history of creation and redemption
converges into this one purpose:

the establishment of
an intimate friendly communion
between God and Man.

God spoke: he revealed himself
unveiled to them his plans of salvation,
And evoke from them a response
of adherence and fidelity.

When God made us,
he created us in his image and likeness,
intelligent and free,
capable of responding to his love.

What is your response?

Matthew 10:29-31
Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Our work is NOT to save souls,
but to disciple them.

Salvation and sanctification
are the work of God’s sovereign grace,
and our work as His disciples
is to disciple others’ lives
until they are totally yielded to God.

One life totally devoted to God is of more value to Him than one hundred lives which have been simply awakened by His Spirit.

Many of us are dictators,
dictating our desires to individuals
and to groups.

But Jesus never dictates to us in that way.

Whenever our Lord talked about discipleship, He always prefaced His words with an “if,” never with the forceful or dogmatic statement— “You must.” Discipleship carries with it an option.

“Take, eat: this is my body.” He took the cup, gave thanks and said: “Take, drink: this is my blood.” Since Christ himself has declared the bread to be his body, who can have any further doubt? Since he himself has said quite categorically, This is my blood, who would dare to question it and say that it is not his blood?

Under the new covenant there is bread from heaven and the cup of salvation. These sanctify both soul and body, the bread being adapted to the sanctification of the body, the Word, to the sanctification of the soul.

Do not, then, regard the eucharistic elements as ordinary bread and wine: they are in fact the body and blood of the Lord, as he himself has declared.

The Gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven
And the Gospel of the Kingdom of God
are different.

Heaven Reigns - LORD and KING over ALL
God Saves - UNION IN CHRIST

The gospel of the kingdom always refers to the establishment of God’s reign over the physical earthly kingdom. Whereby God begins to govern as king and Lord.

To get into the Kingdom of God, we are called to turn from our sin, trust in Jesus Christ and begin a new life, by repentance and baptism.

Mark 16:15
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
