How to find Answers from God

How to find Answers from God

seek the answer in God’s grace,
not in doctrine;

in the longing of the will,
not in the understanding;

in the sighs of prayer,
not in research;

seek the bridegroom
not the teacher;

God
and not man;

How to live in God

From the Journey of the Mind to God by Saint Bonaventure
Mystical wisdom is revealed by the Holy Spirit

Christ is both the way and the door. Christ is the staircase and the vehicle, like the throne of mercy over the Ark of the Covenant, and the mystery hidden from the ages. A man should turn his full attention to this throne of mercy, and should gaze at him hanging on the cross, full of faith, hope and charity, devoted, full of wonder and joy, marked by gratitude, and open to praise and jubilation. Then such a man will make with Christ a pasch, that is, a passing-over. Through the branches of the cross he will pass over the Red Sea, leaving Egypt and entering the desert. There he will taste the hidden manna, and rest with Christ in the sepulcher, as if he were dead to things outside. He will experience, as much as is possible for one who is still living, what was promised to the thief who hung beside Christ: Today you will be with me in paradise.

For this passover to be perfect, we must suspend all the operations of the mind and we must transform the peak of our affections, directing them to God alone. This is a sacred mystical experience. It cannot be comprehended by anyone unless he surrenders himself to it; nor can he surrender himself to it unless he longs for it; nor can he long for it unless the Holy Spirit, whom Christ sent into the world, should come and inflame his innermost soul. Hence the Apostle says that this mystical wisdom is revealed by the Holy Spirit.

If you ask how such things can occur, seek the answer in God’s grace, not in doctrine; in the longing of the will, not in the understanding; in the sighs of prayer, not in research; seek the bridegroom not the teacher; God and not man; darkness not daylight; and look not to the light but rather to the raging fire that carries the soul to God with intense fervor and glowing love. The fire is God, and the furnace is in Jerusalem, fired by Christ in the ardor of his loving passion. Only he understood this who said: My soul chose hanging and my bones death. Anyone who cherishes this kind of death can see God, for it is certainly true that: No man can look upon me and live.

Let us die, then, and enter into the darkness, silencing our anxieties, our passions and all the fantasies of our imagination. Let us pass over with the crucified Christ from this world to the Father, so that, when the Father has shown himself to us, we can say with Philip: It is enough. We may hear with Paul: My grace is sufficient for you; and we can rejoice with David, saying: My flesh and my heart fail me, but God is the strength of my heart and my heritage for ever. Blessed be the Lord for ever, and let all the people say: Amen. Amen!

Why I’m here

Why I’m here:
We are here to learn to worship and get ready for the new Heaven and earth.
Worship is sacrifice.
We are to imitate Jesus.
Be baptized.
Go into the desert to be tempted.
Temptation grows Faith.
Obedience is learned through suffering.
Doing Gods Holy Will not our own thoughts and desires.
Liturgy of Mass is going to cross and getting instruction and food that is Jesus.
Learning to live and please Him.
Blessing the earth with the Lord’s Truth and Goodness, even though they will hate us for it, or be granted repentance and be saved.
Dying brings us to eternal glory.
Earth will be remade and we will be perfected and raised to live in new Earth.
This life is the battle ground growing you into maturity for new perfect Earth.

In a Vision by Night

To love, to be unpretentious, to simplify my life—to go joyfully to God, seeking nothing for myself, in complete abandonment.

Never to lose sight of the intentions for which God wants me to pray, to suffer, and to act. In the midst of exterior activities and my obligations, to keep my inner attention fixed on God, to offer everything for those I love, for those Jesus desires, for the church.

To be always ready to obey the inner call of this gentle Jesus to action or to suffering, or to eternity, too, when he wills, and to reply always with joy and generosity, “Here I am, Lord, ready to do your will.” The day will come, will it not, O God, when it will be your will that I come to you, when the darkness and the sorrows shall vanish, and the burden of the body will no longer weigh on me. . . . When I have been delivered, I will love inexpressibly in you all those I will have rejoined, and those I will have left here below, when the true life will finally begin, to last forever. Blessed dawn of eternity, I greet you, not knowing whether from near or far! I must not hope for you because my only wish is to do God’s will “in life or in death.” I know that I must first climb up to Calvary and hang upon the cross before knowing union with God; I know that I possess, and hope to possess still more here below, this union through the grace of God, in a great spirit of abandonment. I wait and, like the worker who does not know when he or she will receive the final reward, I want in the meantime to fulfill my responsibilities radiantly and peacefully solely for the love of him who has done everything for me.

How to Live

It’s about being with you God
Not thinking about you God

The Bible is to ME to guide ME
Not about how you work with others
Work out your OWN salvation

Think about being with Him
And what You are saying to me
Not about others and what You are doing with them (what’s it to you)

Wash my sin and others off me with the blood
And walk in newness of life with no sin from or on me from others (forgiveness)-freedom!

Chosen and elect for special mission FOR the church others are to be IN the church. Even the Chosen Jews did not Cling to Him, they clung to ideas of Him).

No guarantees for either to make it…symbiotic relationship. Must Cling tight to God. (Who He says He is, not who you want or think He is).

You want a people to be Holy and Worship as a way of life. This is what will free the soul to be happy and free.

Mystery of Free Will

Mystery of Free Will

we touch upon the second greatest mystery of the universe: human freedom. (The first greatest mystery is the Trinity – how one God is three Persons.)

Jesus did everything he could to bring his enemies into the fold of truth and light. Only when they stubbornly refused his rule, over and over again, did he honor their wishes and exclude them from his Kingdom.

How can it be? How can the human soul, created by God to find its fulfillment in God, reject the very God it can’t help desiring? Jesus doesn’t give us a full answer, probably because only God himself can penetrate this mystery completely.

The leaders of the people want to do away with Jesus, because they fear losing the personal advantages they have in the status quo. But here on the threshold of his Passion and Death, Jesus pours out a flood of teaching that shows fully the mistake they are making.

The leaders understand exactly what he is saying to them: Jesus is the Son of God, the final and overwhelming gesture of love sent by the Father to win them over to the truth, and though they maybe have lived unfaithful lives up to now, they still have time to reform.

And yet, in spite of the blinding clarity of the teaching, in spite of the three years’ worth of miracles and exorcisms, in spite of the overwhelming support of the common people, and in spite of Jesus’ own riveting personality and undeniable holiness, these men still “would have liked to arrest him”, and in their cowardice they simply “left him alone and went away.”

His many confrontations with his enemies make it clear that these men freely chose not to believe in Jesus, because they wanted to cling to their own ideas and way of life, which Jesus’ doctrine denounced. But why and how they were able to resist the advances of his love and grace remains a question mark.

The Catechism teaches us that “at every time and in every place God draws close to man” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, #1). He is always reaching out to each one of us. He sends us his messengers in many ways – the teaching of the Church, the examples of the saints, the beauties of nature.

He offers his grace over and over again, sometimes through simple conversations and invitations and nudges of conscience, other times through suffering and tragedy and interior restlessness. Over and over again Jesus reaches out with his offer of friendship, a friendship that can fill our hearts like no other, a friendship that will only grow brighter, deeper, and more joyful the closer we come to eternity.

But, he will never force us to accept that offer.

The Holy Spirit acts directly on our will, he urges, inflames, and attracts it to himself, and enlightens our mind through love.

This directs us toward God more than any reasoning or study on our part could ever do. We perceive by intuition that God is the only One, we sense he is worthy of all our love, then we are led to make a total gift of ourselves.

The action of the Holy Spirit is powerful and effective, yet he is always the spirit of love, and does no violence to our liberty as men. He waits for us to cooperate lovingly with his promptings, and to yield ourselves to his will out of love. If he meets with resistance, he withdraws his favors and leaves us in our mediocrity.

We who have received the gift of faith can only pray for the hard-hearted, and beg the Lord to save them – and us – from a dire fate.
