50  for they all saw him, and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said•, “Take heart, it is I; have no fear.” 51 And he got into the boat with them and the wind ceased. And they were utterly astounded, 52  for they did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened.  (Mark 6:50–52, RSV2CE)

REFLECT

They see Jesus walking on water, think he’s a ghost, are terrified.

Walking on water (instead of seeing the God that can multiply loaves can also walk on water) instead they think he’s a ghost. (Worldly thinking)

Their hearts are hardened and do not understand He  Is God and can do anything.

Why?

Jesus says it’s him and to have no fear.

He gets in the boat and the wind ceases.

calming the wind (instead of seeing the God that can multiply loaves can also calm the wind)

Their hearts are hardened and do not understand He  Is God and can do anything. Instead they are astounded. (Worldly thinking)

Their hearts are hardened and do not understand He  Is God and can do anything.

Why?

RESOLUTION

What blocks my heart after I see miracles in my life. I have been delivered from many things. Why do I still not understand? I guess I doubt you want to do miracles for little old me, that I’m not that important in this big bad world. But you came to show us your glory and bring us through this world with supernatural grace. I don’t have to see from a worldly perspective. I can have a spiritual perspective. But the key to the spiritual is faith and trust. Jesus, open my heart and eyes to see you and know you. I admit my hardness of heart. I admit my weak faith and trust. I ask for the grace to see from the spiritual perspective. Help me, my God, believe and trust for all the things you want me too. You are amazing and want to be with me and walk me all the way home to be with you forever.

REST

I will rest in your love and care. I know you came to save sinners. I am a sinner in need of your grace and love. I will believe and trust. I know that the grace in my soul is the biggest miracle ever! Save me, help me, show me how to love you, for you first loved me. Help me show the world the love you show me. Thank you my Father. Amen.

38 And he said to them, “How many loaves have you? Go and see.” And when they had found out, they said, “Five, and two fish.” 39 Then he commanded them all to sit down by companies upon the green grass. 40 So they sat down in groups, by hundreds and by fifties. 41  And taking the five loaves and the two fish he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and broke the loaves, and gave them to the •disciples to set before the people; and he divided the two fish among them all. 42 And they all ate and were satisfied. 43 And they took up twelve baskets full of broken pieces and of the fish. 44 And those who ate the loaves were five thousand men.  (Mark 6:38–44, RSV2CE)

REFLECT Two Meanings:

1 Jesus is the bread (Eucharist)

Jesus the bread of life

He prays to the Father

He blesses it

He breaks it up into more

He gives it to the leaders of the church to distribute to the church

The church leaders give it to the church

Everyone was satisfied

Leftovers abound-more can come

2 Jesus asks me what do I have to give Him, so he can supernaturally bless it and make more, to give to the church, to bless those around me.

Jesus takes the gift of my time and talents He gave me that I give back to him

He prays to the Father

He blesses it

He breaks it up into more

He gives it to the leaders of the church to distribute to the church

The church leaders give it to the church

Everyone was satisfied

Leftovers abound

RESOLUTION

1 Jesus came to give Himself so all can be satisfied. I eat His Body and Blood for the divine life I need to get to heaven. I must come to the church to get this true bread. It is only through the ordained Priesthood given by the Authority of Christ.

2 All that I do and give back to God (the gifts he gave to me) He can make more and distribute to others for blessings. Do all for his glory and it is counted to me as my gift to him even though everything comes from God. I am blessing him and others with the blessings he gave to me. I actually own nothing. It is an honor to participate with God.

REST

I Trust You my God. You gave me yourself as food. I will stay in your church where You are.

You call me to love you and serve you by bringing all I have to you so you can bless others. You want me to work with you to bless the world. Thank you for this amazing calling.

Thank you for giving me meaning in life and feeding me to get to heaven. I love you!  Amen.

18 For John said to Herod•, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.” 19  And Herodi-as had a grudge against him, and wanted to kill him. But she could not, 20  for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe•.  (Mark 6:18–20, RSV2CE)

25 And she came in immediately with haste to the king, and asked, saying, “I want you to give me at once the head of John the Baptist on a platter.” 26 And the king was exceedingly sorry; but because of his oaths and his guests he did not want to break his word to her. 27 And immediately the king sent a soldier of the guard and gave orders to bring his head•. He went and beheaded him in the prison (Mark 6:25–27, RSV2CE)

REFLECT

God knows best:

John the Baptist spoke for God and His righteous laws. God’s laws heal the soul. Psalm 19:7

Herod was rebuked by John the Baptist for unlawful marriage.

Herodias the wife wanted him killed because of his beliefs and rebukes.

People get very angry when told they are doing wrong. They do not like it when someone rebukes their behavior. God is love and truth. If He says it is sin, it is harmful to the soul. God knows best, He made the soul. We do not understand or comprehend the consequences of our sin until after they are already present. It’s best to believe He is love and truth and follow the laws of love that heal our souls.

Choosing Self or God:

Herod knew John was righteous and holy and even feared him. He kept him safe.

Kept him safe from others, but not himself. When Herod’s will was crossed with God’s will Herod would not kill his flesh.  We have a choice to follow God or self. The Cross is the intersection of decision, his or my will.

Herod knew John was righteous and holy but MURDERED him because he feared man more than God. He did not want to break his oath to a girl in front of his cohort. Pride. He would rather save face on earth for people who are mortal than keep safe a holy and righteous man and possibly go to heaven.

RESOLUTION

Just because I know truth does not mean I live it and commit to it. Salvation is not just head knowledge. It’s a firm commitment to live it in union with my Savior. Even demons know truth and even more truth than man. But they do not want to live it. Many so called Christians are even doing the same. Faith without works of love in obedience is not living faith.

I must, if I want to be truly saved, give over my life to God, believing Him to be love and truth, obeying Him because He knows best, killing my sinful flesh by walking in Grace, all the way to heaven in union with my Savior. This is true salvation.

I must love God more than all things in the world. If I look at others like Herod, I too can rationalize away the right thing to do. I must keep my eyes on God and His ways so as not to be deceived or distracted.

The Cross of wills is the intersection of decision, His or my will. That is why I am to pick it up and make the decision. Only one way to Heaven. His Will be done in me.

REST

Jesus, I see how easy it is to rationalize things, excuses abound. Please help me see when the cross is present and to know the right way to choose. You came to save sinners. I do not have to be shamed or embarrassed by my sin, if I admit it, and bring it to you, you can help me heal and choose the right course of action. Please give me the grace to believe you and your truth and to choose the right way even if it kills my flesh. And if or when I fail please forgive me and help me get up again to fight another day. You are the only way to love and happiness. Thank you for offering to save me. I love you. Amen.

I THIRST FOR YOU

It is true. I stand at the door of your heart, day and night. Even when you are not listening, even when you doubt it could be Me, I am there: waiting for even the smallest signal of your response, even the smallest suggestion of an invitation that will permit Me to enter.

I want you to know that each time you invite Me, I do come always, without fail. Silent and invisible I come, yet with a power and a love most infinite, bringing the many gifts of My Spirit. I come with My mercy, with My desire to forgive and heal you, with a love for you that goes beyond your comprehension.

A love in each detail, so grand like the love I have received from My Father “I have loved all of you as the Father has loved me…” John 15:10.

I come longing to console you and give you strength, to lift you up and bind all your wounds. I bring you My light, to dispel your darkness and all your doubts. I come with My power, that allows me to carry you with My grace, to touch your heart and transform your life. I come with My peace, to calm your soul.

I know you like the palm of my hand. I know everything about you. Even the hairs of your head I have counted. Nothing in your life is unimportant to Me. I have followed you through the years and I have always loved you even when you have strayed. I know every one of your problems. I know your needs and your worries and yes,  I know all your sins.

But I tell you again that I love you, not for what you have or ceased to do, I love you for you, for the beauty and the dignity My Father gave you by creating you in His own image. It is a dignity you have often forgotten, a beauty you have tarnished by sin. But I love you as you are, and I have shed My Blood to rescue you. If you only ask Me with faith, My grace will touch all that needs changing in your life: I will give you the strength to free yourself from sin and from all its destructive power.

I know what is in your heart, I know your loneliness and all your wounds, the rejections, the judgments, the humiliations, I carried it all before you. And I carried it all for you, so you could share My strength and My victory. I know, above all, your need for love, how much you are thirsting for love and tenderness.  Yet, how many times have you desired to satisfy your thirst in vain, seeking that love with selfishness, trying to fill the void within you with passing pleasures, with the even greater emptiness of sin.

Do you thirst for love?  “Come to Me all you who thirst … ” (John 7:37).I will satisfy you and fill you.  Do you thirst to be loved?  I love you more than you can imagine … to the point of dying on a cross for you.

I THIRST FOR YOU.

Yes, that is the only way to even begin to describe My love for you.

I THIRST FOR YOU.

I thirst to love you and to be loved by you. So precious are you to Me that I THIRST FOR YOU.  Come to Me, and I will fill your heart and heal your wounds. I will make you a new creation and give you peace even in your trials.

I THIRST FOR YOU.

You must never doubt My mercy, My desire to forgive, My longing to bless you and live My life in you, and that I accept you no matter what you have done.

I THIRST FOR YOU.

If you feel of little value before the eyes of the world, it doesn’t matter. There is no one that interests me in the whole world than you.

I THIRST FOR YOU.
Open up to Me, come to Me, thirst for Me, give me your life. I will prove to you how important you are for My Heart.

Don’t you realize that My Father already has a perfect plan to transform your life, beginning from this moment? Trust in Me. Ask Me every day to enter and take charge of your life and I will. I promise you before My Father in Heaven that I will work miracles in your life. Why would I do this?

Because I THIRST FOR YOU.

All I ask of you is that you entrust yourself to Me completely. I will do all the rest. From this moment, now, I behold the place My Father has prepared for you in My Kingdom. Remember that you are a pilgrim in this life traveling back home. Sin can never satisfy you, or bring the peace you seek. All that you have sought outside of Me has only left you more empty, so do not tie yourself to the things of this world; above all, do not run from Me when you fall.

Come to Me without delay because, when you give Me your sins, you give Me the joy of being your Savior.  There is nothing I cannot forgive and heal; so come now, and unburden your soul.

No matter how far you have strayed without a destination, no matter how often you have forgotten Me, no matter how many crosses you bear in this life; I want you to always remember, one thing that will never change.

I THIRST FOR YOU – just you, as you are.

You don’t need to change to believe in My love, for it will be your confidence in that love that will make you change. You forget Me, and yet I am seeking you every moment of the day – standing before the doors of your heart and calling.

Do you find this difficult to believe? If so, look at the Cross, look at My Heart that was pierced for you.  Have you not understood My Cross? Then listen again to the words I spoke there, for they tell you clearly why I endured all this for you:

“….I THIRST” (John 19: 28)

YES, I THIRST FOR YOU.

As the rest of the psalm, I was praying says of Me: “… I waited uselessly for compassion, I waited for someone to console me and I did not find it.” (Psalm 69: 20).

All your life I have been desiring your love. I’ve never ceased searching for your love and longing to be loved by you in return. You have tried many things in your goal to be happy. Why not try opening up for Me your heart, right now, more than you ever have before?

When you finally open the doors of your heart and you finally come close enough, you will then hear Me say again and again, not in mere human words but in spirit: “No matter what you have done, I love you for your own sake. Come to Me with your misery and your sins, with your problems and needs, and with all your desire to be loved.

I stand at the door of your heart and call…
Open to Me, for I THIRST FOR YOU… “

“Jesus is God, therefore His Love and His Thirst are infinite. He, the Creator of the universe, asked for the love of his creatures. He has thirst for our love … These words: “I THIRST” … Do they echo in our soul?

READ

7  And he called to him the Twelve, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits. 8 •He charged them to take nothing for their journey except •a staff; no bread, no bag, no money in their belts; 9 but to wear sandals and not put on two tunics. 10 And he said to them, “Where you enter a house, stay there until you leave the place. 11  And if any place will not receive you and they refuse to hear you, when you leave•, shake off the dust that is on your feet for a testimony against them.” 12  So they went out and preached that men should repent. 13  And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many that were sick and healed them.  (Mark 6:7–13, RSV2CE)

REFLECT ON PASSAGE

The Apostles (the leaders of the church)

Were sent two by two (not alone)

Jesus gave authority over evil (authority given to leaders of the church for sacraments)

Jesus told them to be vulnerable and take no supplies (no food, money, or clothes) they are to rely upon God alone and His providence.

Go to one place, stay, give the message. (One on one conviction)

If they refuse your message leave with shaking the dust off as a testimony against their rejection.

The message is to repent. (Turn away from sin to God)

The Apostles cast out demons, anointed and healed. (The sacraments work through the leaders of the church)

REFLECT ON APPLICATION

I am to go to the Catholic Church for my healing of sin through the sacraments (Baptism-Born Again by Spirit, Eucharist-Food of Divine Life, Anointing of the sick, Confession-for exorcism and reconciliation, etc) Not all Christian’s have this Authority to give these healings. Christ specifically gave the Authority to the Apostles. The Apostles handed it down by the laying on of hands through the Catholic Church.

As a disciple I am to rely on Divine Providence. I am not to worry being sent out on mission without supplies. God is my portion and He will provide.

Tell people the message of repentance. I am not to be upset if people reject it. I am only to be the messenger. If they reject, shake the dust off and move on.

The message of repentance is that God wants reconciliation. He wants us to turn from sin that is killing us and turn to God for Grace powered life. He wants us to walk together with Him through life, fighting the evil within, with His knowledge, wisdom, and power of grace.

Stay in the Catholic Church for your sacramental healing, this is how Christ set up the church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.

REST

Thank you Jesus for reminding me that the sacraments are where you have given Authority to be healed. Thank you for giving them through your church that you will sustain. People may be weak but the church has the Authority. So I will not put my trust in the people of the church necessarily but to your Authority in it I can be sure. Thank you for the sacraments and wanting to walk with us through life. Thank you for giving us a grace filled life to combat the evil that threatens us. I love you and will rest in your love and care. Jesus I trust in You!!

Mark 5:21-43

22  Then came one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and seeing him, he fell at his feet, 23  and begged him•, saying•, “My little daughter is at the point of death•. Come and lay your hands on her, so that she may be made well, and live. (Mark 5:22–23, RSV2CE)

But ignoring what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.”  (Mark 5:36, RSV2CE)

•Taking her by the hand he said to her, “Talitha cumi”; which means, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.”  (Mark 5:41, RSV2CE)

and who had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse.  (Mark 5:26, RSV2CE)

27 She had heard the reports about Jesus, and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment. 28 For she said•, “If I touch even his garments, I shall be made well.” (Mark 5:27–28, RSV2CE)

And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.”  (Mark 5:34, RSV2CE)

REFLECT

Jarius had heard of Jesus. Jarius believed Jesus could help him. Jarius went to Jesus. Jarius begged for help and life. Jarius and the family had to ignore the world and what they thought. Jesus said to not fear but only believe in Jesus. Jesus speaks his daughters healing.

A woman heard of Jesus. She believed Jesus could help her. She went to Jesus. She had to ignore the world and what they thought. She believed with all her heart that if she touched his garment she would be healed. Jesus said her faith (belief and trust in Him) got her healing.

MORE REFLECTION

Jesus does not just come to us in a vision of some ethereal light. We hear of Jesus from a person, the church, the Bible, etc. Then when we hear about Him, we think about what we hear. Someone is the mediator.

The mediator is bringing grace. When we think about what we hear the Holy Spirit gives us grace to understand. At this point we can keep thinking or reject Grace.

He calls us through mediators, but we have to choose what to do with that information. If I will believe in Jesus and believe He can help and heal me from sin, I can go to Him, ask Him, turn from the world, and receive blessing because I believe and trust! I don’t earn or bargain, just believe, ask, turn from world, and trust.

PRAY

Jesus, thank you for all the mediators and grace in the world about you. Thank you for the grace of the Holy Spirit that opens my blind eyes. Thank you for being willing to heal my sin sickness. I come to you, I ask you for healing of my sin sick soul, I turn from the world, I believe you can, I believe you will, I trust in You.

REST

I choose to rest in you and your love and care. Thank you my God for your love. Thank you for calling me through others. Thank you for letting me come to you. Thank you for hearing and answering me. Thank you for Grace. I will rest in your love and care turning away from the world and trusting in you! I can’t wait to see you face to face in heaven. I love you. Amen.
