Transition

·        Take a moment to transition from the stresses of the day.

·        Take a deep breath in

·        Enter into Silence

·        Imagine being in God’s presence

·        Use whatever image of God you can to help yourself feel His presence. (held in his arms, calming the storm in the sea, the good shepherd holding you in his arms, the spirit breathing into you, your head upon his chest)

·        Repeat the Jesus prayer over and over: Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.”

·        Make the Sign of the Cross and being your prayer….

Gratitude

·        Remember all the blessings of the day

·        Thank God for all the good things that have happened

·        Thank God for all the gifts that you have received

·        Be very specific no gift if too great or too small from the first moment of your day until the present moment.

·        This will help us genuinely realize God’s gifts in a personal way and make it real.

Petition

·        Ask God for the grace to see whatever He wants you to see.

·        Seek and you shall find

·        Knock and you will be answered

·        Ask and you shall receive

·        Articulate what you desire at this time of prayer.

·        Ask with gratitude instead of demanding or forcing or trying to make things happen.

Discern

·        Review your day with the Father and ask him to help you realize when you were with God and when you were moving away from Gods love.

·        No judgement good or bad, just share with God as your best friend or most intimate love or companion.

·        Sharing your day with God in loving attention with great clarity.

·        Discern the spirits that were operating on you throughout the day. (struggle, stress, difficulty, joy, laughter, etc)

·        Sharing will bring insight, guidance, wisdom and a sense of unburdening.

Forgiveness

·        Take a moment to call to mind your sins in the presence of the Father who loves you unconditionally

·        Admit anything you are sorry for, and experience His mercy.

·        This is not about shame or depression or self-condemnation but it is about experiencing God and his healing love.

·        Be specific and express the incident and what happened to God, not alone.

·        If you find yourself with a grave sin or one that is difficult for you to process, or one that keeps coming up, bring it also to confession.

Resolution

·        With the Lord, make some practical, concrete, and doable resolution for the next period of your day.

·        This resolution will be different day by day.

·        Make it a more subtle, concrete, practical and doable resolution.

·        This resolution will help you not only experience God’s love but also live it out in your life accordingly.

Conclusion

·        Allow time for transition as you did in the beginning.

·        Pray this so the Father can remain in you and you can remain in him.

·        This prayer will begin to help you live in a constant awareness of love and forever dwelling in the Father.
