Why then does evil want to be in the church? Why do they want to be called Christians? Is it a diabolical thing where they want to get in and wreak havoc not to actually pretend to be His?

Evil seeks the Church not because it loves Christ, but because the Church is the very “body of Christ” that the devil wishes to corrupt, destroy, and turn into a source of falsehood. The fallen angel, having definitively rejected God, “tries to associate man in his revolt against God” (CCC 414)1. His primary weapon is deception: “Satan is the deceiver of the whole world” and “the father of lies” (CCC 2852)2. By infiltrating the Church he can spread lies, sow division, and lead the faithful away from the truth of the Gospel.

The desire to be called “Christian” is part of that deception. When heretical groups or “false apostles” present themselves as part of the Church, they gain the credibility needed to lure souls, to spread “pestilential doctrines” and “poisonous books” that appear respectable (Qui Pluribus 18‑21)3. The devil’s strategy is to disguise his attacks as legitimate religious activity so that the faithful are not immediately alarmed (In Dominico Agro 1‑4)4. This is why the Church warns that “the insidious tempters would use their work to try to infect unwary minds with errors which are hostile to evangelical truth” (In Dominico Agro 1‑4)4.

Such infiltration is indeed diabolical. The devil does not seek to “pretend to be His” in a sincere way; he seeks to mislead. He wants to “plant weeds while the workers sleep” and to “sow tares into the field of the Lord” (In Dominico Agro 1‑4)4, thereby turning the Church’s own mission into a vehicle for error.

In practice, the Church combats this infiltration by:

• Teaching the faithful the true deposit of faith and warning against “false apostles” (In Dominico Agro 12‑13)9.

• Exercising canonical discipline: those who obstinately reject definitive teachings are subject to excommunication (AD TUENDAM FIDEM)6.

• Promoting prayer and penance as the “most efficacious remedy” against the devil (Divini Redemptoris 59)10.

• Maintaining vigilance in formation of clergy and laity, ensuring that “the young are not led into the abyss by the devil’s temptations” (Gaudete et exsultate 162)11.

Thus, evil wants to be in the Church because the Church is the means by which souls are saved; corrupting it is the most effective way to thwart God’s salvific plan. The devil’s masquerade as a Christian is a deliberate, diabolical strategy of deception, not a genuine desire for Christ. Our duty, following the Magisterium, is to remain watchful, to teach sound doctrine, and to pray fervently so that the devil’s lies are “quashed like a fire” (Eucharistic concelebration 1987)12.

do most people that are not really Christian think they are and are self deceived or are they malicious?

Most people who call themselves “Christian” while in fact living outside the true faith are usually not driven by a deliberate desire to harm the Church, but rather by a mixture of genuine misunderstanding, cultural identification, and, in some cases, a willful rejection of what the Church teaches. The Church’s own teaching distinguishes these degrees of error.

1. Ignorance that is not culpable

The Catechism teaches that “unintentional ignorance can diminish or even remove the imputability of a grave offense” (CCC 1860)1. When a person has never received a proper catechetical formation, or when the truth is concealed by false teachers, his or her mistaken self‑identification as a Christian is often invincible ignorance – a lack of knowledge that could not have been overcome by ordinary effort. In such cases the person is not morally culpable for the error, even though he or she may sincerely believe he/she belongs to the Church.

2. Ignorance that is culpable (vincible ignorance)

Thomas Aquinas draws a clear line between ignorance that is excusable and ignorance that is voluntary. He explains that “ignorance which is in some way willed… does not excuse the sin” (ST II‑II q. 76 a. 2)2. When a baptized person chooses not to learn the essential doctrines of the faith, his or her error becomes culpable. Aquinas calls this “vincible ignorance” and says it is a sin because the person ought to know the truth (ST II‑II q. 76 a. 2‑3)3.

3. Heresy as obstinate denial

The Catechism defines heresy as “the obstinate post‑baptismal denial of some truth which must be believed with divine and Catholic faith” (CCC 2089)4. This definition presupposes deliberate obstinacyafter having received baptism. For those who have never been baptized, the Church speaks of “error” rather than “heresy,” but the same principle applies: willful rejection of revealed truth is a grave fault.

4. The danger of following false teachers

Thomas Aquinas, in his Quaestiones quodlibetales (III q. 4 a. 1), asserts that “in matters that pertain to faith and good morals no one is excused if he follows the erroneous opinion of some teacher.” He stresses that “ignorance does not excuse” when the error concerns core doctrines (doc 8). This shows the Church’s view that malicious or obstinate adherenceto false teaching is not merely a harmless mistake.

5. The reality of many contemporary “self‑identified Christians”

The International Theological Commission notes that “heretical opinions can be spread by those who present themselves as part of the Church” (Qui Pluribus 18‑21)5. Likewise, the apostolic letter In Dominico Agro warns that “insidious tempters use their work to try to infect unwary minds with errors hostile to evangelical truth” (doc 5). These sources indicate that some people are deliberately co‑optedby false movements that masquerade as authentic Christianity, but the majority are caught in errorrather than motivated by malice.

6. Pastoral assessment

Pope Pius IX, in Quanto Conficiamur Moerore, reminds us that “the devil draws up his forces to join battle against the Church of Christ” (doc 9). The Church’s response is to form the faithful, to guard against “false apostles” (In Dominico Agro 12‑13)6, and to encourage prayer and discernment (Gaudete et exsultate 162)7.

Synthesis

• Most are self‑deceived: Their claim to be Christian stems from cultural identity, inadequate catechesis, or exposure to deceptive groups. Their error is rooted in invincible or vincible ignorance, not in a conscious wish to damage the Church.

• A minority are malicious: Those who know the Church’s true teaching and choose to reject or distort it—whether out of pride, rebellion, or a desire to lead others astray—commit heretical obstinacy and are morally culpable.

The Church therefore calls for vigilant formation, charitable correction, and prayerful discernment so that the faithful can distinguish genuine belief from self‑deception and from the diabolical intent to corrupt the Body of Christ.

7 So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All who came before me are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not heed them. 9 I am the door; if any one enters by me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. (John 10:7–9, RSV2CE)

12 He who is a hireling and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. 13 He flees because he is a hireling and cares nothing for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd; I know my own and my own know me, 15 as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And I have other sheep, that are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will heed my voice. So there shall be one flock, one shepherd. (John 10:12–16, RSV2CE)

25 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness to me; 26 but you do not believe, because you do not belong to my sheep. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; 28 and I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.” (John 10:25–30, RSV2CE)

We are to follow Jesus and not heed the hirelings, thieves , and robbers that lead astray.  Jesus is the only door, not the false church. If anyone enters through Jesus he will be saved and find pasture.

Jesus knows His own and His own know God. His sheep will head His voice.

Just because someone claims to be Christian does not mean they are. They must believe Jesus is God, Worship Him, listen to His commands, and Do His commands, entrusting your entire heart, soul, mind, and body to the one who bought your life back for you.

People do not believe in Jesus because they do not belong to Him. His sheep hear, know, and follow Him. Jesus gives eternal life and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of Jesus’ hand because the Father gave those sheep to Jesus and no one can snatch them out of the Father’s hand. Jesus and the Father are ONE.

We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if any one is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him. (John 9:31, RSV2CE)

If I had cherished iniquity in my heart,

the Lord would not have listened. (Psalm 66:18, RSV2CE)

God is not listening to sinners.

God listens to those who worship Him.

God listens to those who do his will.

God listens to those who listen to Him.

We are full of iniquity until God opens our eyes.

He is not listening to us unless we accept His conviction and turn.

God calls and we respond, no one is searching for him or calling for him. When we turn from sin to Him then He listens to us.

3 And by this we may be sure that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He who says “I know him” but disobeys his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him; 5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly love for God is perfected. By this we may be sure that we are in him: 6 he who says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked. (1 John 2:3-6, RSV2CE)

REFLECT

If you keep his commandments you know him. You keep them because you trust him. You trust him because you believe him.

If you disobey him you do not know him or believe him, You are not in truth and are a liar.

If you keep his word, you are showing your love for God, which is being perfected by your obedience.

To show your abiding and belonging to him is by walking as he has showed us and told us.

I am writing to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven for his sake. (1 John 2:12, RSV2CE)

REFLECT

Our sins are forgiven for HIS sake! Not our sake. He wants us for himself and so he forgives for his sake so he can take us to him. HE wants us!

15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If any one loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world passes away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides for ever. (1 John 2:15–17, RSV2CE)

REFLECT

Love of the world separates you from God your Father. The world is contrary to Gods kingdom. It is passing away. All who do the Will of God lives forever.

PRAY

Believe, Trust, Know, Obey, and Love God by doing His commands and His will because He has forgiven your sins for His sake so He can take you for Himself. He wants to deliver you from the deadly world’s way and give eternal life. Father, I submit to you. Help me! Amen.

Humility: Simply put, all we have comes from God; it is all a gift. So strictly speaking, we deserve nothing (except recompense for our sins). And yet we think we deserve everything. Even our basic human rights stem from our existence, which is a gift of God and not a personal achievement.

Our duty is not to rule the universe, but to serve God, to get to know him and discover his plan for us. If we do that, we will experience the peace and meaning we long for – just as flowers achieve their beauty only when they grow as God designed them to.

All good things come from God, so ultimately all praise should go to him as well. Even our talents and our opportunities are gifts of God. When we start to take more credit than is our due, we are forgetting who really is Lord. That was Satan’s mistake; let’s not repeat it.

The servant works hard, obeys, submits, and Jesus says he should look for no recompense; he’s just doing his duty. Imagine how unstable our lives would be if the intensity of God’s love for us depended on the efficiency of our service in his Kingdom. If we could increase or decrease God’s love for us just by our performance rating, we would be just as anxious, ambitious, and self-centered working for Christ as we tend to be working for money and promotions.

In the Lord’s Kingdom, God’s love for each of us is already so total, so personal, so unconditional, so untiring, that nothing we do can increase or decrease it.

And so the servant in God’s Kingdom does his work energetically, joyfully, and peacefully as a response to that gratuitous love of God. God’s love doesn’t depend on our achievements; our achievements flow from knowing how much God loves us and from wanting to thank him. This is true humility; this is what the Lord wants us to learn.

Faith unleashes God’s power in our lives. When we let ourselves be won over by God, he can do wonders with us; when we doubt him, trusting ourselves and our ideas more than his infinite wisdom and love (e.g. filtering out Church teaching that we find uncomfortable), we cut ourselves off from his grace. He won’t force his way in; he respects us too much for that. But if we invite him in, and give him full control over our lives, amazing things begin to happen.

There is One Church you founded. It was the Catholic Church, all Other churches including Orthodox are refusing to submit to the Head you have given. There is no Authorty anywhere that you have not given. They leave because of personal scandal and different Theological interpretations.

We do not get to decide what theological answers are- the church does that. So that is an illegitamite excuse. And personal scandal does not negate the faith. Judas is the example of that. The faith was not wrong just because Judas was evil. We are to submit to the church and make it Holy by our own individual Holiness and testimony of Christ.

You told me this-this weekend-when you deviate from the Catholic Church understanding of God passed on from the Apostles you end up worshipping your idea and opinion of God rather than the real God who has revealed how to love and worship Him. Will He say I never knew you?

I have decided that I will worship you how you have revealed and no man- or their sinful way will make me choose to lose my salvation. I will obey my God because He is worthy and the cross is to stay in among the Chaff because I want to be the wheat. Leaving is Not an option. Other denominations are led by demons and are quite capable of giving Peace and consolation so they stay away from truth. This is extremely dangerous and I Pray for all the souls separated from the Church. God is most merciful and sees hearts.

Christ is the Priest, the Sacrifice, and the Body. He gave us the mass so we could offer the Perfect sacrifice (Jesus) for sins to the Father. No other sacrifice is sufficent. Eating His own Body & Blood is the way to life. His flesh is true food, His blood is true drink. I will not desert my God because of evil chaff-Jesus said we Must grow together and He will separate. I choose To Believe & Trust & Love Him as He has revealed. Amen!
