3 And by this we may be sure that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He who says “I know him” but disobeys his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him; 5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly love for God is perfected. By this we may be sure that we are in him: 6 he who says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked. (1 John 2:3-6, RSV2CE)
REFLECT
If you keep his commandments you know him. You keep them because you trust him. You trust him because you believe him.
If you disobey him you do not know him or believe him, You are not in truth and are a liar.
If you keep his word, you are showing your love for God, which is being perfected by your obedience.
To show your abiding and belonging to him is by walking as he has showed us and told us.

I am writing to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven for his sake. (1 John 2:12, RSV2CE)
REFLECT
Our sins are forgiven for HIS sake! Not our sake. He wants us for himself and so he forgives for his sake so he can take us to him. HE wants us!

15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If any one loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world passes away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides for ever. (1 John 2:15–17, RSV2CE)
REFLECT
Love of the world separates you from God your Father. The world is contrary to Gods kingdom. It is passing away. All who do the Will of God lives forever.
PRAY
Believe, Trust, Know, Obey, and Love God by doing His commands and His will because He has forgiven your sins for His sake so He can take you for Himself. He wants to deliver you from the deadly world’s way and give eternal life. Father, I submit to you. Help me! Amen.
