for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from the Father. (John 16:27, RSV2CE)
REFLECT
God the Father loves me because I love Jesus. God the Father loves me because I have believed that Jesus came from the Father.
Many people believe in Jesus. But they don’t follow Him. Those who love him keep his commandments. And they want to keep his commandments because they realize He is God, if He is God, he knows best how to live life because He sees everything and made everything. If He made it, He knows best how it should work. This is real belief. Not just a belief in existence but a believing that changes your life.
PRAY
Father, thank you for drawing me to you. Thank you for telling me about Jesus. Jesus thank you for making yourself known to me. Jesus I love you and want to believe and change my life. I know you are God and that all you say is for our good. Help me let go of my disordered desires and receive your grace to live this new life following your commands. I believe you that you know best and that I am broken and cannot see correctly without your guidance. Help!

I have said this to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33, RSV2CE)
REFLECT
My peace comes from being IN Jesus. I will have trouble in the world but IN Jesus I can overcome because He is empowering me. I can have peace because since I am IN Jesus and He is all powerful He can make me victorious in whatever he leads me through. Escaping the world and trouble is not an option. You did not come to help me escape, you showed us how to go through. I must be willing to embrace my cross of being entrenched in sinful humanity clinging to You and your power working in me to get through. As I do walk through in your peace you are showing the world yourself.
PRAY
Jesus, please help me remember I am in You! I forget and feel alone and afraid of the world. I should stand up and walk with purpose because you are with me. I should have peace in every and all circumstances because you yourself are empowering me to walk through the pains of life in this broken world. Even when the pain is great I can have confidence because you are going to pull me through. You have and will continue to overcome the world. Am I willing to receive your strength and subdue my desire to flee and have a pity party? Help!

17 When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, 2 since you have given him power over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. 3 And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. (John 17:1–3, RSV2CE)
REFLECT
The Father glorifies the Son and the Son glorifies the Father. The Father gives gifts to the Son and the Son gives these gifts to the Father (us).
The Father has given Jesus the power over all flesh. Jesus has the power to give eternal life to all the Father has given him. Eternal life is knowing the Father, the only true God, and Jesus the Christ, whom the Father has sent to show us who the Father is (his exact representation).
PRAY
I desire to know you Father and Jesus Christ your son, the Only True God. I would not have this desire if you did not call me. People are not naturally desiring to know you so they can completely give their lives up to You. It is a gift that must be received. Help me continue to receive because it is not in me naturally. Jesus, please give me eternal life. Help me know you! Help me know Truth. Help me CHANGE with the knowledge you give transforming me into a new creation. Help!
