but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name. (John 20:31, RSV2CE)
The Word was written down so that we may believe that Jesus is who He says He is - The Christ of God. And if I believe Jesus, I have life in his name.
Jesus, somehow I believe you. You have given me the gift of believing. I know it makes no sense to the world but somehow it does to me. You have opened my blinded eyes to see you and your truth. Please keep my eyes open and give me life in your name for your name sake! Please give me grace to keep persevering. Only by grace can I make it home.

The disciples are His children. I am a child of Jesus.
Jesus, please help me look to you for all my needs. Help! I can’t see right down here.

Jesus said to him, “If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? Follow me!” (John 21:22, RSV2CE)
Jesus has a will. It is not for me to know. I am to be a follower not a figure outer. I am not compare myself with others. I am to follow Jesus where he tells me to go and do what he tells me to do. What He does with others is His own business.
Jesus, forgive my arrogance that I thought I could figure stuff out. Even if I knew your business I don’t know how it works and if I knew, I would try to take control because that’s the flesh. Forgive me, cleanse me, help me rest in your care and not worry about what others do. I actually do not want to know, I just want to be held. Amen.
