READ
12 “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. 14 He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. 15 All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you. (John 16:12–15, RSV2CE)
REFLECT
Jesus has many things to say to the apostles but they cannot understand them without the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit will guide the Apostles to the truth. The Spirit does not speak on his own authority, but hears from Jesus, who hears from the Father, and declares to us. The Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus. All the Father has belongs to Jesus and the Holy Spirit declares what Jesus has from the Father to us.
PRAY
I cannot understand things of God without the Holy Spirit. Jesus has many things to say to me. I must be listening for the Holy Spirit. He guides into all truth. He is speaking from the Father through Jesus to me. Father, I admit I need you to be my perfect Father. Jesus, I admit I need your saving Blood to cleanse me. Holy Spirit I admit I need your truth to wake me up and tell me your plan for my life. I am unable to understand my way without your guidance. It is dark here and very confusing especially with my flesh fighting me all the time. Holy Trinity One God, have mercy on me a sinner, and save me. You are my only hope and salvation. I submit to your rule and repent of myself! In the Name of Jesus I pray for grace to be made your new creation born again as your daughter. Amen!
