READ

6 “I have manifested your name to the men whom you gave me out of the world; they were yours, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 7 Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you; 8 for I have given them the words which you gave me, and they have received them and know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me. 9 I am praying for them; I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours; 10 all mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them. 11 And now I am no more in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one. 12 While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me; I have guarded them, and none of them is lost but the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13 But now I am coming to you; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 I have given them your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15 I do not pray that you should take them out of the world, but that you should keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be consecrated in truth.

20 “I do not pray for these only, but also for those who believe in me through their word, 21 that they may all be one; even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 The glory which you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, 23 I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you have sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. 24 Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to behold my glory which you have given me in your love for me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father, the world has not known you, but I have known you; and these know that you have sent me. 26 I made known to them your name, and I will make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.” (John 17:6–26, RSV2CE)

REFLECT

Jesus manifested the Father’s name to the believers God gave Him out of the world, they belonged to the Father, and they were given to Jesus, and they keep the Father’s word.

These believers know that everything the Father has given Jesus is from the Father (they believe Jesus is from the Father and everything he is and has is from the Father-is God)

Jesus has given these believers the Fathers word given to Jesus and these believers RECEIVE this word and know in truth Jesus came from the Father and believe that the Father sent Jesus.

Jesus prays for the believers not for the world but only for those whom the Father has given Jesus, for they belonged to the Father.

All of the believers given to Jesus are His and they are the Fathers. Jesus is glorified in these people.

Jesus prays for the believers to be kept in the name of Jesus, the name the Holy Father has given Jesus. Jesus prays the believers are united into one even as the Father and Jesus are one.

While Jesus was with the believers He kept them in the Fathers name which was given, JESUS. Jesus guarded them.

Jesus speaks this now so that the believers have Jesus own joy in them. Jesus has given these believers the Word from the Father. They are no longer of the world, and therefore the world hates them. Jesus does not want them taken out of it but that they should have strength to get through it.

Jesus asks the Father to sanctify these believers in the Father’s truth. Your Word is truth! As the Father has sent Jesus into the world, Jesus sends his believers into the world. Jesus consecrates himself in truth so for the believers sake they are consecrated in Jesus’ truth.

Jesus does not pray for the world but for those who will believe in Jesus by the word of the believers. (Which is the word given to Jesus from the Father) Jesus prays for all the believers to be one as the Father is in Jesus, and Jesus in the Father. That the believers may be in both the Father and Jesus. If there is unity, the world may see and believe that the Father has sent Jesus.

The glory which the Father has given Jesus, Jesus has given to the believers, that they may be one even as The Father and Jesus are perfectly one, so that the world may know that the Father has sent Jesus and the Father has loved the believers even as the Father has loved Jesus.

Jesus desires that the believers that the Father has given him may be with him to behold the glory which was given Jesus in the Fathers love before the foundation of the world.

The world does not know Jesus or the Father but Jesus does know the Father and the believers know the Father sent Jesus. Jesus has made the Father’s name known and will continue so the love the Father has for Jesus will be in the believers and Jesus in the believers.

~~~
God the Father, has believers that belong to Him, chosen out of the world, Jesus manifested the Father and the believers receive the word, know its truth, and keep it. They believe Jesus and the Father are united in One and that everything Jesus is and says is from the Father and that He was sent from the Father. Jesus is glorified in the believers. Jesus prays the believers are kept in the name the Father gave which is Jesus. Jesus guards the believers as they walk through the world that hates them because they do not belong to the world. The believers are sanctified and consecrated through the Word which is Truth. The believers are in Jesus who is in the Father and the Father and Jesus are in the believers. By the unity the world will see the Father sent Jesus. The glory the Father gave to Jesus, Jesus gives to His believers. The Father has loved the believers even as the Father has loved Jesus. Jesus wants the believers to behold the glory He has given from the Father. The love the Father has for Jesus will be in the believers and Jesus in the believers.
PRAY
The Father has chosen me out of the world to believe. I belonged to the Father and he sent Jesus to manifest Himself and his Word of Truth to me to know and keep. The Father gave me to Jesus. I believe Jesus is God and the Father and Jesus are one.
Jesus is glorified in me.
Jesus keeps me in his name and guards me.
I have been given Jesus’ joy to fulfill me.
I am sent into the world like Jesus was sent.
I am sanctified and consecrated in the Word of Truth.
I am in Jesus and the Father, and Jesus and the Father are in me. (We are one?!)
The glory given to Jesus from the Father is given to me.
The Father loves me as He loves Jesus.
I am to be with and behold the Glory of Jesus that the Father gave him in His love!-keep my eyes on him!
The love the Father has for Jesus is in me.
Jesus is in me.
