2 They will put you out of the synagogues; indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God. 3 And they will do this because they have not known the Father, nor me. (John 16:2–3, RSV2CE)
REFLECT
People in the church want to kick out the real Christians. They do this because they think they are serving God??!! They do it because they don’t even know the Father or Jesus.
Why do non Christian’s want to be in the church? Because they want to feel safe. They know truth but have not trusted that the covenant regulations are not in them. They think going to church and doing the best they can is salvation. They don’t want to hear that they are still in their evil if they have not given up their life. They want control.
Salvation is a complete surrender in utter defeat that the Christian life cannot be lived without the power of God. To know God and Jesus is to know He has regulations of our side of the covenant that he expects to be fulfilled. But him being so loving, he gives us the Holy Spirit to do what we cannot do by ourselves.
PRAY
Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit, I admit I am dust. I cannot live the covenant without your power. I admit I need to give up my life so I can gain it. I have to give all control to you. I have to have no expectations except to do your will whatever and wherever you choose to go. I am following not leading. Knowing Truth cannot make you safe, only submission to and doing Truth with the power of God is how you know you’re safe. Please be pleased Holy Trinity to come and renew this dust you created. Please give me a new heart and a new Spirit so I can hear. Then give me power to lay down my life and let you live in me. In the name of the only Savior, Jesus Christ I pray for love, mercy, and grace. Amen!
