JESUS IS THE PRIEST AND SACRIFICE
PRIEST -offering to God the sacrificed for the people’s atonement.
SACRIFICE - the offering of his body and blood for the sins of the people.
Romans 15:16 (NAS): to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, ministering as a priest the gospel of God, so that my offering of the Gentiles may become acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
WORSHIP IS AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN SACRIFICE
from Old Testament on....has never stopped.
The Mass is a reenactment of the One time forever sacrifice re presented daily to remind us and do in memory of Him as he told us in the Last Supper.
Hebrews 10:12 (NAS): but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God.
SIN NO MORE
Hebrews 10:26–29 (NAS): For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
CONSEQUENCES
29 How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve
- who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and
- has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified,
- and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
REPENT AND BE MADE NEW
Acts 2:38 (NAS): Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
2 Corinthians 5:17(NAS): 17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
