Oh my God, I admit I am a sinner. I am so full of anxiety because I do not want to sin against you and I still do. Please forgive me, do not let me go. Please stay close and heal my heart and soul. Help me Jesus! You are my only hope for salvation.
Psalms 38:18, 21-22
For I admit my guilt;
I am full of anxiety because of my sin.
Do not abandon me, LORD;
My God, do not be far from me!
Hurry to help me,
Lord, my salvation!
The message of the Cross is foolishness to those who refuse to believe
But the message of the cross is salvation to us who believe
1 Corinthians 1:18
For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Through the wisdom in the world people did not come to know God
Therefore it is through the foolishness of the cross preached, those who believe, will be saved.
1 Corinthians 1:21
For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
It is due to the Father I am in Christ
Christ is my wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.
Alone, I am nothing.
Boast only in the Lord!
1 Corinthians 1:30-31
But it is due to Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that, just as it is written: “LET THE ONE WHO BOASTS, BOAST IN THE LORD.”
We cannot be angry at unbelievers
They cannot understand God’s ways
We are to pray for them.
1 Corinthians 2:14
But a natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
The foundation is Jesus
We build what we want in that foundation
If we build by the direction of God, it will survive
If we build foolishly it will be burned up
The Fire of God will test the quality of our work
You may be saved with nothing if you are not building wisely
1 Corinthians 3:10-15
According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each person must be careful how he builds on it. For no one can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, each one’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each one’s work. If anyone’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet only so as through fire.
When abused-we bless
When persecuted-we endure
When slandered- we reply friendly
1 Corinthians 4:12-13
and we labor, working with our own hands; when we are verbally abused, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it; when we are slandered, we reply as friends; we have become as the scum of the world, the dregs of all things, even until now.
Saying you are a Christian
Does not cut it
Being a Christian
By the Power of God does
1 Corinthians 4:20
For the kingdom of God is not in words, but in power.
