“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. (Matthew 6:24, RSV2CE)
I cannot love myself and my way more than God. This will make me the one on the throne, which will lead to disorder. By loving God, I will love myself in a healthy way and I will see His good will for me. If I love myself over God, I will become disordered and I will start to despise God thinking He is not for me. I have to serve one. I cannot serve both. And the best way is love God and then I can see His love for me.
This is our first sin, believing I have the right to disobey and think I know best. It brought us all down. Help me love you above all so I can see clearly.
