Live 4 The LORD

3 Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, 2 when they see your respectful and pure conduct. (1 Peter 3:1–2, ESV-CE)

4 but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious. 5 For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, 6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening. (1 Peter 3:4–6, ESV-CE)

8 Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. 9 Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. 10 For

“Whoever desires to love life

and see good days,

let him keep his tongue from evil

and his lips from speaking deceit;

11 let him turn away from evil and do good;

let him seek peace and pursue it.

12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,

and his ears are open to their prayer.

But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” (1 Peter 3:8–12, ESV-CE)

REFLECTION 

Be subject to authority so that by your respectful and pure conduct some may be won. The hidden person of the heart is what I should be concerned about not my outward appearance. A gentle and quiet spirit is precious in God’s sight. Holy women who hope in God submit to authority. Absolutely do good and do not fear anything that is frightening. Have unity of mind with Christ. Be sympathetic, love the brethren, keep your heart tender and your mind humble. Do not repay evil with evil or reviling but actually bless them so that you may obtain a blessing. I was called to bless all people. If I desire to have good days I must not speak evil do not lie or act deceitful, turn from evil do good. I am to seek and pursue peace. If I act right my prayer is heard by God. God’s face is against those who do evil so don’t do it. 

SUMMARY 

Watch over my heart. A gentle and quiet spirit God thinks is precious. Submit to authority in respectful and pure conduct. Do not fear anything frightening! Humble your mind and keep your heart tender. Bless all people even the evil people, I am called to bless all. Do not speak evil. Pursue peace. Turn from evil and deceit so my prayers can be heard. 

PRAY

Jesus, help me! My mind is not humble it is fearful and on defense. I need to know I am safe in you so that I fear nothing and allow others to act the way they choose. I am to bless them all. I am to not be evil! I must be gentle humble and heart tender towards your voice. Help me!!! Come Holy Spirit. Amen.
