I peter 1:12
The Holy Spirit sent from heaven revealed to previous generations that they were not serving themselves, but us
We are also serving future generations by our obedience of faith they will be told the gospel
I Peter 1:13-16
Prepare your minds for action
Keep sober in spirit
set your hope completely on grace
be obedient
like the holy one who called you be holy in all your behavior.
I Peter 1:21
Through Jesus Christ, i am a believer in God who raised Jesus from the dead, gave him glory so that my faith and hope are in God.
I Peter 1:22-25
Purify your souls by obedience to truth
Have sincere love of of the brothers from the heart
Born again of the word of God which is living and endures forever
This word was preached to me
John 3:5
Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
Born Again
WORD (was preached and convicted your soul)(1 Peter 1:23)
SPIRIT (convicted of sin, I repent, I committed to following)(John 3:5),
WATER (baptism), (John 3:5)
You can stop repenting and stop listening to convictions and fall away if you are lacking in commitment to follow. God will not leave you, but you can leave him. It is to be a lifelong covenant, God is faithful but you can break it. It is a relationship, it takes two.
