Prophecy is Speaking God’s Truth:
READ
Pursue love, yet earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. (1 Corinthians 14:1, LSB)
But now, brothers, if I come to you speaking in tongues, what will I profit you unless I speak to you either by way of revelation or of knowledge or of prophecy or of teaching? (1 Corinthians 14:6, LSB)
24 But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed man enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all;
25 the secrets of his heart are disclosed; and so he will fall on his face and worship God, declaring that surely God is among you. (1 Corinthians 14:24–25, LSB)
REFLECT
Pursue love which is wanting the good of the other. If you want their good you will tell God’s Truth. We are to reveal God’s way, give knowledge on how to live in his presence, tell his truths, and teach in discipline of living. When telling God’s truth in prophecy people’s souls get convicted. This conviction leads to worship so that all know God is with us.
