But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glorification. (1 Corinthians 2:7, RSV2CE)
God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. (1 Corinthians 2:10, RSV2CE)
12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might understand the gifts bestowed on us by God. 13 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who possess the Spirit. (1 Corinthians 2:12–13, RSV2CE)
“For who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:16, RSV2CE)
The unspiritual man does not receive the gifts of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Corinthians 2:14, RSV2CE)
REFLECT
God decreed before all ages to give his people wisdom and understanding that would be secretly revealed (through the Holy Spirit of God) this is part of our glorification. The Holy Spirit is God so knows all. God reveals himself through the Holy Spirit. If we receive the Holy Spirit we will understand the gifts given to us. This wisdom is not taught by man. It is discerned and interpreted by the Holy Spirit to those that have Him. Those that possess the Holy Spirit interpret spiritual truths. The Holy Spirit is the mind of Christ which we have if we receive Him.
Most of humanity have not received the Holy Spirit and therefore cannot understand or receive the gifts because they are only discernible by the Spirit.
PRAY
God, please be pleased to open my soul to you Holy Spirit more and more. I need the mind of Christ to hear, understand, and discern the gifts you have given me so I can walk in your truth. I cannot learn it from man, I must be humble and come to you. I want to receive. Help me, by your love, mercy, and grace to receive this divine gift all day every day, so I can glorify your Holy Name! I was baptized and received Him but I let distraction and unbelief cloud my heart. Forgive me! Save me, I am yours! Amen. Glory to God forever!
