GRACE:
* Actual grace refers to the temporary interventions of God that assist individuals in performing good actions or avoiding sin.
* Sanctifying grace is a habitual grace that dwells in the soul, perfecting it and enabling it to live in communion with God.
* When a person consistently refuses to respond or cooperate with actual graces, this can lead to:
1. state where the individual becomes less receptive to the workings of grace
2. can lead to a hardening of the heart, making it increasingly difficult to respond to God's call
3. a lack of acknowledgment of one's limitations creates a barrier and can block its effectiveness in one's life to the transformative power of God's grace in the soul.
4. once a person has fallen into sin, it becomes increasingly difficult to avoid further sin without the assistance of grace
5. a pattern of rejecting actual graces can lead to a weakening of the will, making it more challenging to maintain sanctifying grace, potentially resulting in the loss of sanctifying grace.
* It is a sin to knowingly resist the grace of God, as this constitutes an insult to Him and a rejection of His gifts, which are essential for salvation.
* Repentance and a sincere desire to amend one's life are necessary for the restoration of grace.
