21 When my soul was embittered,
when I was pricked in •heart,
22 •I was stupid and ignorant,
I was like a beast toward you.
23 Nevertheless I am continually with you;
you hold •my right hand.
24 You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will receive me to glory.
25 Whom have I in •heaven but you?
And there is nothing upon •earth that I desire besides you.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion for ever.
27 For behold, those who are far from you shall perish;
you put an end to those who are false to you.
28 But •for me it is good to be near God;
I have made •the •Lord God my refuge,
that I may tell of all your works. (Psalm 73:21–28, RSV2CE)
REFLECT
When I was bitter my mind was darkened and I was stupid ignorant and beastly. But you kept hold of my hand even while I was acting up. You are still guiding me and will bring me to glory.
All I want is you. In heaven -You. On earth- You. I want all my desire to be god you my God. My flesh and heart may fail but my soul longs to be with you forever. You are the strength of my soul. You are my portion forever.
Those far from you will perish apart from you. You put to an end those who are false to you (lip service no action-love is action)
It is good to be near God and this is what I want You my God are my refuge. Help me tell the world of your amazing works, love, and salvation.
PRAY
Father, when I look around I get bitter and angry. Help me want only you. If I keep my eyes on you I will not worry about what is going on around me. Please do not let me go. Keep holding me. You are the longing of all my soul. You are my strength and portion forever. I need to stay near you and find my refuge in you. Help me!
REST
You are a covenant keeper. I will rest in the knowledge that you will keep me by the hand and guide me home to you. Thank you for your mercy and steadfast love. Help me find my joy and rest in your presence, my refuge. I love you. Amen.
