Evil can mimic people of light

Even humility

But NOT OBEDIENCE

Obedience is the mark of a True Christian

  1. Evil can mimic people of light:
    • 2 Corinthians 11:14-15: "And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve."
  2. Even humility:
    • Matthew 6:1-2: "Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full."
  3. But NOT OBEDIENCE:
    • 1 John 2:3-4: "We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. Whoever says, 'I know him,' but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person."
    • John 14:15: "If you love me, keep my commands."
  4. Obedience is the mark of a True Christian:
    • James 1:22: "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says."
    • Romans 6:16: "Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?"

These verses highlight the importance of obedience as a distinguishing mark of a true Christian.
