READ

68 “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel,

for he has visited and redeemed his people,

69 and has raised up a horn of salvation for us

in the house of his servant David,

70 as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old,

71 that we should be saved from our enemies,

and from the hand of all who hate us;

72 to perform the mercy promised to our fathers,

and to remember his holy covenant,

73 the oath which he swore to our father Abraham, 74 to grant us

that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies,

might serve him without fear,

75 in holiness and righteousness before him all the days of our life.

 (Luke 1:68–75, RSV2CE)

REFLECTION

Jesus came to redeem and save me from my enemies [SIN]

I am to perform Mercy

I am to remember his Covenant

I am to serve Him without fear

I am to be holy

I am to be righteous

In my own strength I cannot do this. It is a new creation that has to be made. I must give him my yes, he gives me the Spirit, I am to listen and pray for the grace to obey.

RESOLUTION

Jesus, help me listen. Holy Spirit Come. I need your grace and direction and empowerment to obey. Help me want to fight my sin. Help me hear your direction. Help me pray. Help me obey. I want to be this new creation, holy, righteous, obeying the covenant, performing mercy, serving you without fear. I am yours. Change me! Amen.

REST

Thank you God for redeeming my life. Thank you God for giving me a renewed life. Thank you for deliverance from my enemies. Thank you for purpose! I love you! Amen.
