Lectio Divina: read, reflect, respond, rejoice!

My Lectio Divina: on psalm 36

Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart

There is no fear of God in his eyes

He flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated

His words are trouble and deceit

He ceased to act wisely and do good

He plots trouble and sets himself in a way that is not good

He does not reject evil

Evil, lies fallen, thrust down, unable to rise

{Rebellion against rules and laws is something deep in the heart of the wicked. They do not want to follow them they actually want to break them or disregard them. The wicked do not fear God, they do not believe in him or if they do they don’t think he will do anything to them. The wicked flatters himself thinking no one sees his evil thoughts words or deeds. He thinks no one can hate him for his evil because no one knows about it. The evil wicked man talks about trouble and deceiving himself then he plots to do evil to others. He has stopped doing right and has gone the way of unrighteousness. He is always offered grace but does not reject evil. Because of rejecting God and his grace, he is fallen and unable to rise.

Jesus, I pray that I do not reject your grace and start to rebel. I pray to want to keep your laws, they are life to my soul. I pray to never lose the fear of losing your love and mercy! You see everything! In your mercy help me stay close to you. Amen!}

~~~
You are precious steadfast love to those who know you
Your love extends to the heavens
Your faithfulness to the clouds
You are righteous and your judgments are to the upright of heart
Man and beast you save
Man can take refuge in the shadow of your wings
They feast on the abundance of your house
You give them drink from the river of your delight
With you is the fountain of life
{Jesus thank you for coming to me in your mercy and grace and offering to let me know you. You are steadfast love to me. You are faithful and full of righteousness. Help me have an upright heart and save me. I want to hide in the shelter of your wings. I want to feast on your Eucharist - your own Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity to give me LIFE. I can drink from your living water which is the river and fountain of your delight.
Thank you my God for your amazing love. Help me stay close and never reject and turn away! Only by your grace can I make it home to you. I Love You. Amen.}
