My Lectio Divina: on Jude

To those who are called 

Beloved in God, the father 

Kept for Jesus Christ 

Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you 

{I have been called to belong to God. I am his beloved. The father loves me so much he made himself known to me and pursued me until I fell in love. I am kept for Jesus. I have Mercy that sees my needs and helps me. I have Peace because I am loved so much he paid my sin debt so I can be safe in his arms. I have love that he has covenanted to me so I can be sure that I will be his forever. They are multiplied daily. 

Thank you God for your amazing love and care of me. Thank you for calling me and helping me respond to your love. I know I don’t deserve it! I am astoundingly grateful!! Amen}

THE UNGODLY:

The ungodly pervert the grace of God into sensuality 

Deny the master and Lord Jesus Christ 

Jesus saved those out of Egypt, but destroyed those who did not believe 

The angels who did not stay within their authority are kept an eternal chains for judgment on the great day 

Sodom and Gomorrah indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire serve as an example undergoing punishment of eternal fire 

Relying on dreams, defile flesh, reject authority blaspheme, unreasoning animals, destroyed by what they live instinctively

They abandoned themselves for the sake of gain 

They are hidden within your group. They have no fear, they’re feeding themselves, fruitless, dead in shame. 

The Lord will convict the ungodly of all ungodliness and of all the harsh things the ungodly sinners have spoken against him. 

Grumblers, malcontents, following sinful desire, loudmouth boosters, favoritism to gain advantage,  scoffers, ungodly passions, cause divisions, worldly people devoid of the spirit

{Oh my Jesus, please help me stay full of the Spirit so I do not want my fleshy evil desires. They are full of animal instinct and even seem to know about God. They are in our midst but do not give themselves to the Spirit and want Grace to be a license for sin. Apparently they are unbelievers. But what they don’t believe is unsure because they believe you are. Maybe they don’t believe you punish for ungodliness. They want to indulge in their ungodliness. Our flesh, the world, and the devil are constantly trying us! I need to stay close. Help me Father!! I can be led astray do I need your help. I can deceive myself. SAVE ME!}

Keep yourself in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ, that leads to eternal life 

{How do I keep myself in your love Jesus? To live you is to follow your commands.  Must choose to listen and obey. Please have mercy on me as I journey to you. Help me have eternal life in you My Lord. By your grace I can do what you command. Help me cooperate. Thank you for telling me about how to keep myself in your love. Guard me my God. Amen.}

To him, 

who keeps you from stumbling 

present you blameless 

in his presence 

with joy 

{Jesus keeps me from stumbling by his grace if I keep close. He presents me blameless in him and washed under the blood. I will be able to be in his presence and will have joy when I see him! Thank you Jesus for this amazing offer. I want to see you and be with you forever washed clean! Amen}

through Jesus, 

Jesus Christ, our Lord, 

be Glory, Majesty, Dominion and Authority 

before all time 

now and 

forever 

{God is my savior! I am saved through Jesus who is my Lord. Lord means he is now in charge of my life!

From the Beginning of Time-Now-Forever He Is Glory! Majestic! Has Dominion over All things! Authority over All things! 

Praise to you Almighty God! I want to be yours! Amen!}
