Luke 6:43-45
For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor, on the other hand, a bad tree which produces good fruit. For each tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a bramble bush. The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil. For his mouth speaks from the abundance of his heart.
A good tree by definition cannot bear bad fruit
A bad tree by definition cannot bear good fruit
The heart of a man determines what kind of fruit he will produce.
If you have a good heart you will produce good fruit
If you have an evil heart you will produce evil fruit
The fruit comes from what a person speaks about because he speaks what he is thinking in his heart.
Jesus change my heart to good if it is evil. Help me think right thoughts and speak fruitful things. I do not want to produce evil. Only you can save my soul and change my heart. Thank you God for offering salvation to anyone who wants to come. Here I am Lord, save me.
Luke 6:46-49
“Now why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and does them, I will show you whom he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug and went deep, and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the river burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. But the one who heard and did not do accordingly, is like a man who built a house on the ground without any foundation; and the river burst against it and immediately it collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great.”
If Jesus is Lord I must obey for my good.
I obey because building my life on His Word and Directions brings a solid foundation to my life that the world will not be able to demolish.
If I do not obey it is my choice and I am only harming myself because the foundation is not there and I will be destroyed.
Jesus tells me this not to be a tyrant but to be a savior. He gives me the choice of listening or not.
