Who are The Elect

The "elect" refers to those whom God, in His eternal wisdom, has chosen for salvation. The special grace of final perseverance is not given to everyone.  It is a gift given to those whom God has chosen, and this choice is prior to any merit or fault.

Grace emphasizes that divine initiative precedes, prepares, and elicits the free response of man. Grace responds to the deepest yearnings of human freedom, calls freedom to cooperate with it, and perfects freedom.

God's absolute sovereignty even over the will. God's absolute sovereignty in providing grace for the elect to accept and persevere does not imply a coercive action that bypasses their free will. Instead, His grace enables and strengthens their free cooperation, ensuring that those He has chosen will ultimately respond and remain faithful.

The ability to say "yes" to God's offer of grace and to persevere in that "yes" is itself a gift of grace. Willingness is itself a result of God's providential preparation and gratuitous choice. Everyone comes into the world not willing to be God’s.

The grace of "final perseverance" is a "special help of God". It consists of God's "ever watchful superintendence of us... removing temptations which He sees will be fatal to us, succouring us at those times when we are in particular peril, whether from our negligence or other cause, and ordering the course of our life so that we may die at a time when He sees that we are in the state of grace". The special grace of final perseverance is not given to everyone. Pray for mercy and perseverance.

John 17:6-11

God chose out of the world an Elect. He gave them to Jesus.

  1. The Elect keep the word of the Father.
  2. They know, receive, understand, and believe Jesus and His Word came forth from and is sent by the Father.

Jesus prays to keep the Elect in the name of the Holy Father (Jesus) to keep us ONE.

John 6:37-40

The Elect will come to Jesus. Jesus will not cast out one who comes to Him. The WILL OF GOD is that JESUS WILL NOT LOSE THE ELECT but raise them on the last day. The Elect see Jesus and believe in Him for eternal life.

Philippians 1:6

Jesus, who began a good work in you will perfect it (process) until the day of Christ Jesus!

Luke 12:32

Do not fear, little flock, for your Father is well pleased to give you the kingdom.
