The council of Trent does not say that faith in God’s mercy is condemned it warns against the idea that faith understood as a bear belief or trust without any transformation or response in our lives is enough to save us
Trent affirms we are truly saved by Grace through faith but the faith that saves is working through love a living active trust not a passive idea
The church never condemns those who cling to God‘s mercy, rather it invites us to let that mercy move our hearts and change our actions not by force, but by the spirit within us
Faith is more than understanding. It’s trust assent and surrender to God the works are the outer shape. This trust takes love lived out in real decisions.
In other words, it begins with trusting God letting him love you as that trust grows it shapes how you live your works
