Why people choose to resist God:
We would rather
Be in Egypt enslaved by Pharos making bricks
If we get to eat what we want and do what we want
We think this is satisfying to our soul, but we are worshipping and enslaved by idols that drain us and put us in bondage.
We are destroying our souls.
The narrow path:
God brings us into the desert
To Worship Him
Listen to Him
Obey Him
Know Him
He loves us, wants the best for us, knows what really satisfies the soul, and sets free from sin that enslaves and falsely feels like satisfaction and freedom.
He heals us making us free to be what we originally were made for - Relationship with God.
At first it feels like death (to our worldly mind) but at the end of discipline it is joy and peace!
The Cross Saves us from corruption. We must embrace it and be trained by it. It is the only true freedom and healing. You will have pain either way. Pain of self destruction and enslavement or pain of killing that way of thinking and then freedom and peace. He gives you the choice. Choose Life!
