14 And if anyone does not obey our word in this letter, take special note of that person to not associate with him, so that he will be put to shame.
15 And yet do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother (2 Thessalonians 3:14–15, LSB)
If a Christian is not obeying God take note of them and stop associating with them so they feel shame for their refusal to follow their Lord. Do not think of him as an enemy but admonish as a brother do they may repent and be saved and not keep going down the wrong road.
This is exactly what I was doing at work. Both Mimi and Sandy, professing Christians, were refusing to do their job so I was admonishing them so they can turn back. So now I must separate myself from their fellowship because they refuse to do right.
I was not wrong in my motive but my behavior was harsh not loving. That was wrong of me. But I was right to admonish, then stop and let them go. I told them and now they have the right to do as they please. If they want to continue going down the wrong path, that is their prerogative. I can only pray for them to see light.
I am to not let anything get between me and God, no anger or resentment. I did my duty and now I must cling to my God.
Father forgive my tone with them I was very wrong. But truly my motive was to wake them from their rebellious spirit. Help me separate myself and cling to you and follow you. You are my salvation! Amen.
