READ

14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:14–16, NKJV)

7 who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, 8 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. 9 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, (Hebrews 5:7–9, NKJV)

REFLECT

Jesus is the High Priest that has offered the perfect sacrifice for all time. He came and lived a human existence and knows all the temptations we go through, He can sympathize. Because of Him knowing how weak we are and what it feels like. Now we can come Boldly to His Throne that is full of Grace and Mercy for our weakness. When we come we will find help!

While Jesus lived here in the flesh the Father heard Him because of His Godly Fear. He offered up prayers, supplications, cries, tears, and obedience through suffering to the Father. He has been perfected in flesh and now is the author of eternal salvation to those who OBEY Him.

PRAY

Jesus is the perfect sacrifice that united divinity and humanity. He knows what it’s like to be weak in flesh. I can come to Him for help. He is on His throne of Mercy and Grace to those who ask. Help me Jesus, have mercy on me a sinner that wants to live in You, please empower me by your grace to obey. I must remind myself that you had to offer up prayers, supplications, cries, tears, and obedience through suffering to the Father, how much more will I have to! Please my Savior give me strength! Help me be eternally saved in your perfect sacrifice. Amen.
