12 he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption. 13 For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, 14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.
15 Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.4 (Hebrews 9:12–15, ESV-CE)
For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. (Hebrews 9:24, ESV-CE)
he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. (Hebrews 9:26, ESV-CE)
so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him. (Hebrews 9:28, ESV-CE)
REFLECT
Jesus entered the Holy of Holies in Heaven not earth-with his own blood securing eternal redemption.
The blood of animals cleansed the body so we could be in His presence. The Blood of Jesus through the Spirit cleanses our body and our conscious.
Jesus is the perfect mediator so those called may receive the promise of eternal salvation. He is in Heaven in the Presence of God on our behalf. He appeared once for all time to put away sin by his once for all sacrifice. It is finished! Next time He comes He will come to get and save those waiting for him.
PRAY
Jesus your blood cleanses my body and mind so I can be sure. Your blood and sacrifice is perfect. I can add nothing. I can only receive. You are in heaven on my behalf. You will come back to get me and save me to be with you forever. Help me know your love. I am desperately seeking your love. Help me love you and your creation for your names sake. I love you. Thank you my God for dying for me. Thank you for offering me salvation and union with you. Amen.
