Mark 4:11-12

And he said to them, “To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables, so that

“‘they may indeed see but not perceive,

and may indeed hear but not understand,

lest they should turn and be forgiven.’”

{To some the secrets of the kingdom are given.

Those outside the kingdom hear parables not the secret.

They see but don’t comprehend what they are seeing.

They hear words but do not understand what they mean.

If they Turn to God to be forgiven then they will be enlightened.}

Jesus's parables are an invitation to enter His kingdom. He invites people to the feast of the kingdom through these parables, but also asks for a radical choice.

To gain the kingdom, one must give everything. This total commitment indicates a necessary condition for understanding the deeper mysteries.

The Gospel is not merely information but a proclamation that calls for a response of the whole person. This response involves one's heart, soul, mind, and strength.

The kingdom will grow as people turn to God in prayer as to a Father and strive to do His will.

Mark 4:39-40

And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?”

{Jesus calms storms. He is ALL POWERFUL.

Why am I afraid if the ALL POWERFUL is in me.

Do I not have faith that He is protecting me and guiding me exactly where I am supposed to be and will provide for my every need.}
