Romans 1:25
For they exchanged the truth of God for falsehood, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
The core reason for rejection of God.
They exchange the truth of God…
People do not want to know they are made to know and love and worship and serve the Father who created them for relationship with him. And the earth and everything in it is a gift to walk in relationship with him.
For falsehood…
People want to live in a delusion that they are made to be the god of their own life. That they are here to do as they please and live as they choose. They do not want to be made to love God, they want to love self and whatever they think is right or makes them happy. The broken self, the world, and the devil continually perpetuate this delusion.
Serving the creature instead of creator…
By serving themselves they are actually going contrary to what they were made for and continuing down a path of self destruction and delusion. The more they amass the pleasures they seek, the more empty because the whole point is to be with and love God. Their heart can never be satisfied with anything apart from God. They are destroying themselves.
God is blessed forever…
That God is blessed forever means that God possesses perfect and everlasting happiness. He is the source of all goodness, happiness, and perfection.
Whatever is desirable in any form of happiness exists wholly and more perfectly in God. This includes contemplation, governance, joy, self-sufficiency, omnipotence, universal government, and the admiration of all creatures.
His eternal nature ensures that God's happiness is perfect, without end. God calls humanity to share in His own beatitude, offering us participation in the divine nature, eternal life, and rest in Him. We are beatified by seeing the Truth (God) and loving Him, finding happiness with all the blessed.
You can turn around…
Don’t keep rejecting this amazing gift. Repent and believe the Gospel!
