My child, I know what will fill your heart – love. I know what’s at the bottom of your soul, because I created you. It is the need to love and be loved, to discover that another person is delighted that you exist, and to be glad in the existence of that other person. This is the deepest truth of your being, because I made you in my own image, and this is the deepest truth of my being. I remind you that I am glad that you exist. Not because of what you can do for me, but just because you are. You don’t need to earn my love; you just need to enjoy it. And if you do, you will be true to the mission I have given you. Know that when I see you (which I always do) I smile, because I am pleased that you exist.
