Mark 6:20
for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and he kept him safe. When he heard him, he was greatly perplexed, and yet he heard him gladly.
{Herod:
Herod (had fear of the Lord) feared John
He knew John was a righteous and holy man
He kept John, the righteous man safe even though he spoke against his lifestyle (sexual immorality) choice
He listened to John
He liked to hear him and gladly listened
He was perplexed because it made him think about his choices
He could have been saved-the grace was working in him. He was gladly listening to truth. He knew what John was saying was holy and righteous. He understood!
He chose pride (saving face to others) over Truth.
God’s grace is always there. It is effective. We are resisting. What am I understanding and yet refusing to comply with??!! Even when we understand does not mean we will DO. It is a CHOICE. It is not necessarily an educational thing.}
