John 1:6-13
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
REFLECT
Because of John the Witness, many witnesses have come down through the ages and have witnessed to me. I am part of the all that might believe. JESUS is the Light. Jesus came into the world to let us know Him. Jesus is the one who made the world and all of us, He has given light us all. But all of us did not know Him. He had a chosen people and they did not really know him either because they did not receive Him when He came to them. All who received Him He gave the right to become his adopted children! Anyone who believes in His Name can be born again! God gives Grace to all! It is not from our flesh, it is not a decision of our will, or any human will. IT IS God offering us by Grace to Receive Him. God himself is offering himself and we can receive or reject.
PRAY
Father, thank you for coming down to our world in Jesus! Jesus, thank you for wanting us to know you! Thank you for giving us life and light and especially offering us grace to receive you! I want to receive you, I do not want to reject you. I know I am weak, I know I am sinful and broken. Thank you for offering grace! Holy Spirit, thank you for grace and opening my heart to receive. Thank you for letting me be born again! Holy Trinity, thank you for your amazing love! Thank you for wanting me to know and live in with and through you for your glory! I pray to be a witness too so that through my witness, and the Holy Spirit’s Grace, someone else may believe! Amen!
