John 5:16
For this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill Him, because He had done these things on the Sabbath.
REFLECT
The Jews sought to kill someone “they judged” as not following the “rules” of God.
Just like today, each Christian denomination wants to label other denominations as heretics because “they judge” they are not following the “rules” of God.
It does matter how we see God. So how and who you define God to be, is absolutely important. So doctrine really does matter. So how do we find truth in this fractured “Christendom” because the Real Christ is not divided. And the Real Christ does have “rules” to worship and obey. The whole reason the Israelites were brought out of Egypt was to learn how to know, love, and worship the One and Only Real God.
PRAY
Jesus, please open my eyes to you and your truth. You said if we are truly seeking you we will find you. The main goal then is to seek You in Truth. I am trying to find my way in this increasingly dark and confusing world even among your children. Help me my Holy God, bring me to you. Only you can light my way. Amen.
