Lectio Divina: read, reflect, respond, rejoice!

My Lectio Divina: Matthew 15:8

‘THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS,

BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME.

{Do I  honor God with my words? Do I say I love him? Do I say I have faith? Do I say I believe him? Do I say he is first? Do I say He is King and Lord?

If my heart is for him I will love him. My heart will want to be with him. I will want to please him. I will want to do what makes him happy. I will want to spend time with him. I will want to worship him. I will want to know what he says and thinks (read the word). I will think of him before all other created things. I will put my life in his hands. 

Where is my heart really?

Oh my God I am very weak. I do love you. I do want to please you. My heart is broken and needs grace. Thank you for wanting to help me love you for who you are. Thank you for coming to tell me who you are. Thank you for loving me and wanting a relationship with me. Help me by grace to love and worship you and make you King and Lord of my life. You are worthy! Amen.}
