the Catholic Church does not explicitly define two separate categories of saved individuals. Rather, it emphasizes that salvation is a universal offer from God, made possible through Jesus Christ, and received through faith and grace. Those who accept this gift of salvation are considered among the elect, chosen by God to be part of His people.

The Role of Faith and Grace: Justification, or being made righteous, occurs when we receive salvation in faith 5. This faith is itself a gift from God through the Holy Spirit 5. God's grace draws us to Himself, transforming us and enabling us to respond to His love.

Election and God's Choice: Those who are saved are chosen by God 4. This election is not based on any merit of their own but on God's gracious initiative.
