Matthew 18:23-27

“For this reason the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his slaves. When he had begun to settle them, one who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him. But since he did not have the means to repay, his lord commanded him to be sold, along with his wife and children and all that he had, and repayment to be made. Therefore, the slave fell to the ground and was prostrating himself before him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you everything.’ And feeling compassion, the lord of that slave released him and forgave him the debt.

{The Master wanted to settle accounts.

150,000 YEARS worth of wages (impossible debt)

The slave acknowledged his absolute inability and plead for patience and mercy to try to live indebted

Compassion: heard and listened to the plea for patience and mercy, the master knowing the man would be enslaved every moment of everyday never free for all his life and his entire family for all their life.

Released: let the master and his family go. They could leave and live however they wanted for the rest of their lives like they never knew the hard way of slavery.

Forgave: owed NOTHING to the master.

No debt and no slavery!

We are enslaved and indebted to evil in our hearts. We are broken and need to be released from more sin and debt already incurred.  It is an impossible amount to pay. It needs divine payment.

If we acknowledge our absolute inability to release ourselves and pay back our debt and plead for patience and mercy God hears and listens and has provided a way out.

Jesus took on flesh. He paid the sin debt by his blood sacrifice. He destroyed the power of sin in the body by living perfectly.

The Master can hear your pleas. Jesus is the way to be released from debt. Jesus is the way to live a new life free from slavery.

You can be baptized into Jesus and live in, with, and through Him. This is the way of freedom. No debt-paid in full, freedom from body slavery that would incur more. Must live by the Spirit.

Forgave: owed NOTHING to the master, Sin erased. No debt and no slavery!}
