The Father sends the Spirit
The Spirit convicts of Sin
- People Reject Jesus
- People Repent and Follow Jesus
- A. They listen and follow for a while (behavior modification-they get spiritual benefits but never give their whole self to God)
- B. They listen, follow, obey, and give themselves wholeheartedly(born again)
Only those that give themselves wholeheartedly to God are his genuine children.
Even his children can leave the home (prodigal). Then they repent again and can be A or B. (Even the older son was an A) Neither son gave themselves in love wholeheartedly to their father, and the Father loved them both wholeheartedly!
The Father’s love is not enough! We need to respond!
It is a constant spiritual battle all the way home. We must be vigilant! The enemy is out to get us, the world is corrupted, and our flesh is bent toward sinful desires. GIVE YOURSELF TO CHRIST!
