Luke 17:26-30
And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.
Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
REFLECT
In the days of Noah (120 years to build the Ark he preached). The people thought he was crazy and did not listen. They continued living as normal all the way up until the day he entered the Ark. Everything was destroyed.
Same thing with the destruction of Sodom, they did not listen and fire and brimstone rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
It’s been 2000 years since Jesus came with the truth and people still refuse to listen. They are continuing to live like no wrath is coming. And it will continue until Jesus comes back.
PRAY
Jesus, help me hear you. I do not want to perish in sin. I want the gift of new life in You. You came so I can have eternal life. Help me despise this earthly life and live for the next one. That is true life. Help me hear how to live in this new creation under the Spirit not my flesh. You are true happiness. Anything on this earth is not compared to having you. Please help me forsake all that can separate me from you. I know this is not in me but with you all things are possible. I put my hope and trust in you. Thank you for offering me this new life. Help me accept and walk it out in you. Amen.
