He, the true and eternal priest,
instituted the rite of the everlasting sacrifice;
he offered himself to you Father,
first as the victim of salvation,
and commanded us to perpetuate
the offering in memory of him.
By eating the flesh that he sacrificed for us,
we are strengthened’
and by drinking the blood he shed for us,
we are purified.
