The New Covenant, established through Jesus Christ, brings a new law, which is not simply a written code like the Old Law, but an interior reality [^7] [^9] [^10]. It is the grace of the Holy Spirit that enables people to love as Christ loves [^10].

Here’s what characterizes the laws of the New Covenant:

*   **Interior Law:** The New Covenant is not just about external observance but about internal transformation. God writes His laws on people's hearts and minds, changing them from within [^3] [^4] [^7] [^9].
*   **Love:** The essence of the New Covenant is love—love for God and love for one another [^9] [^10]. Jesus gives a new commandment to love one another as He has loved [^9]. This love is the fulfillment of the law [^8].
*   **Freedom:** The New Law is the "law of freedom" because it inclines people to act spontaneously out of charity, rather than out of obligation or fear [^10].
*   **The Holy Spirit:** The grace of the Holy Spirit makes it possible to live out the New Law [^7] [^10]. The Spirit transforms believers, enabling them to live a life of love and holiness [^7].

While the Bible contains the teachings and principles of the New Covenant, it is not, in itself, the entirety of the New Law [^5] [^6] [^7]. The New Law is primarily the grace of the Holy Spirit dwelling within believers, guiding and empowering them to live as children of God [^3] [^10]. The Bible serves as a guide and source of revelation for understanding and living out this New Law, but the law itself is the interior reality of grace and love [^8] [^10].
